How to Ollie

Now that you have learned how to ride, turn, and brake, you will want to learn how to llie.

The Ollie is the first trick you want to learn when beginning skateboarding. It is defined as a simple jump with your skateboard. You pop into the air with your skateboard.

Your foot placement is key for a good ollie. Keep you front foot right behind the front "bolts", or screws attaching your trucks to the deck. Your back foot should be on the tail.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
How To Do The Ollie

Crouch down while bending your knees, but don't overdo it.
Spring up while simultaneously popping your back foot against the ground, causing the tail to smack the ground and the nose (front of board) to pop into the air.

If you've done this correctly, you board will be nearly vertical, but airborne. To fix this, slide you front foot closer towards the nose. NOTE: This is a mandatory step!!!

This will even your board out in the air.

Now land gracefully and roll away. You just did your first ollie!

  4. I like your tips on how to ollie.

I personally snap the tail down while sliding my front foot, makes a nice crisp one. It really just comes with practice I find.
